Postmortem: Screw Logic the RPG

[this post contains spoilers for Screw Logic the RPG]

I feel like I owe an apology to anybody who played this expecting a good game.

I started development of this game when I was still in high school, 7 years before the game actually got released. back then, I did the art, made the plot about a group of people wanting to leave the confines of the video game prison, and some of the basic level design. I put it off and put it off and etc. and would occasionally work on it little by little for years to come. my hopes were that it would be a huge game that would satirize all aspects of the video games I hated at the time. after years had passed I decided to never work on it again and make a sequel that would do it all better while also critiquing modern beliefs about sexuality (basically it was a form of coming out. it isn't a finished game and I still may return to it, but lets just say it was not a very straight game for someone to make while still calling themselves straight). I decided not to keep the title for the sequel and it became its own thing, leaving this game alone once more. in the end, I decided it was time I finished it.

this game is purposefully super hard. it was a pure accident it turned out that way, but I kept it to make fun of how hard games are unfair. I also had several endings because I didn't like games where so much could happen ending the same exact way every time. the decisions made were essentially juvenile, but I never felt like changing anything. it would've been like destroying an artifact from an age long lost. the game I made about killing the pope, however... I still don't know if I should even talk about that one.
